Bo's best game as a Canuck by far. He looked almost as possesed as Kyle Wellwood last night.

Bo looked awesome last night, a lot of great looks before he actually scored. Perhaps scratching a few more "vets" would make the team more successful?

Would you give up..Horvat, Mcann in a deal for ..Stamkos , Drouin ..deal ? Plus picks going to Tampa ......?

What?

Stamkos is a generational player. Horvat and Mcann are promising prospects that are projected to be 2nd line players.

Are you talking about trading for Stamkos before he signs an extension and then lose him to free agency? We lose Horvat and Mcann plus for a rental and Drouin?

I am very happy with Sven's production of late. I think like Bo it was a matter of time before things started to go in for them both.

The intermission crew mentioned it as well, but I dont see why the team cannot throw McCann out on the PP with more regularity. He will be a half wall guy, why let Vey have that duty when your young and promising offensive player is sitting on the bench with 4th liners. Makes zero sense

Bo looked unreal. If that truly was a glimpse of his future and consistency here we are in for a real treat for a lot of years.

It's up to Benning to trim the fat and force Willie's hand.

"feel like there's something special about the fact that when you add up Bartkowski (44) and Biega (55), you get Gretzky"

Carol under that thinking Henrick (33) and Daniel (22) add up to Ben Eager.

It is impressive. I have to admit I lobbied for Horvat and baertchi to be broken up but WD stuck with them and now they are producing...maybe WD knows what he's doing after all...

I think we are going to see more of the Johansen/Jones type trades. I guess they have been coined hockey trades. Quality for quality. Smart deals.

The Stamkos proposal is a wonderful idea but if we couldn't even compete in a deal for Johansen (or even someone like Turris) then how could we swing a deal for Stamkos and keep him?

Local kids who are first line centres in the NHL. My god, why couldn't my team focus more on drafting local talent.

Carol I remember you asking me yesterday where I heard Willy was going to scratch a vet I think it was just a sports feed on my phone yesterday morning...might have been the Score...not too sure. Might have been a facebook link also...

Was Higgins a healthy scratch last night?

I totally agree, I think however it should be Bo replacing Burrows in the netfront, not McCann.

Salary Cap recapture is pretty easy.

They changed the rules in the new CBA to limit the annual salary fluctuation and shrunk the maximum length of contracts. In order to punish the Canucks (the NHL doesn't really care about punishing anyone else) for the Luongo deal, they implemented a penalty in the form of the recapture for all contracts signed PRIOR to the new CBA, in case Luongo retires before his contract expires. No deals signed under the new CBA are eligible for recapture.

Other than Luongo, any player who is eligible for recapture, who retires prior to the end of their contract will be eligible for one of many NHL mandated loopholes. Any team who wishes to void a player contract, or who's player is suspended, kicked out of the country, or no longer legally allowed to cross the border, is also eligible for such loopholes.

Basically it's just a big F-U to the fans of Vancouver.

I disagree, teams will always be hesitant to trade their developed talent unless there is an issue. The only reason Johansen is available was because of his health/attitude issues.

Jones is a hell of a prospect but hasn't proved anything close to what Johansen has in this league.

I was thinking for PP2, giving McCann the "Henrik" role. But yes I also wouldnt mind seeing Bo with some PP1 time
